Children's Therapy Services in English at Our Istanbul Centre
Speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, DIR/Floortime and special support programmes, all available in English. For children growing up with Turkish and English, we also offer bilingual Turkish-English sessions.
Every session is individual, lasts 40 minutes and takes place in person at our centre in Beykent, Büyükçekmece (Istanbul). We support English-speaking, international and bilingual families across west Istanbul.
Speech and Language Therapy
Help with understanding, talking, speech sounds, fluency and voice. Sessions are in English, or bilingual Turkish-English for children who use both languages.
Speech and Language Therapy
Individual evaluation and therapy for late talking, speech sounds and language development. Our speech and language therapists make a separate plan for every child.
Learn more →Speech Delay
For children who talk later than their peers, we look for the reason behind the delay and start early support. An early start makes a clear difference to progress.
Learn more →Language Disorder
Structured support for children who find vocabulary, building sentences or understanding hard. We look at understanding and expression separately.
Learn more →Articulation Disorder
Sound-based therapy when sounds such as r, s, k or th come out wrong. We practise target sounds through play, with age-appropriate materials. For bilingual children, we check both languages.
Learn more →Stuttering Therapy
For fluency difficulties, we run a whole-family programme for both the child and the parents. Easing worry about speaking is the first goal of therapy.
Learn more →Voice Disorders
For hoarse, raspy or quickly tiring voices, we teach vocal care and healthy voice use. When needed, we work alongside an ear, nose and throat (ENT) check.
Learn more →Language Development in Autism
For children on the autism spectrum, we put the wish to communicate and functional language first. Non-verbal communication is a key part of the process.
Learn more →Bilingual Children
In children growing up with two languages, we tell a real delay apart from normal language mixing. We show families how to support both languages, with bilingual Turkish-English sessions.
Learn more →Occupational Therapy and Sensory Integration
Everyday skills, from sensory processing and handwriting to dressing and attention. Our occupational therapy, including sensory integration, is available in English.
Occupational Therapy
We work on motor, sensory and thinking skills so your child can manage daily life independently. After an evaluation, we build a personal programme.
Learn more →Sensory Integration Therapy
A structured sensory programme for children who are oversensitive to sensations or keep seeking them out. The aim is to help your child cope with everyday settings.
Learn more →Fine Motor Skills
Step by step, we build hand skills such as holding a pencil, using scissors and doing up buttons. Hand muscles and hand-eye coordination are worked on together.
Learn more →Gross Motor Skills
We support large-muscle skills that need balance, coordination and body awareness. We look for the reason behind frequent falls and clumsiness.
Learn more →Handwriting Difficulties (Dysgraphia)
Structured writing practice for reversed letters, trouble following lines and hard-to-read handwriting. Pre-writing skills come first.
Learn more →Visual Perception
We build shape recognition, visual memory and spatial skills. These skills directly affect reading and writing.
Learn more →Self-Care Skills
We aim for independence in dressing, eating and personal hygiene. Each skill is taught in small steps.
Learn more →Attention and Concentration
We use structured activities to lengthen focus and reduce distraction. Families also get ideas they can use at home.
Learn more →School Readiness Programme
For children about to start school, we look at motor, attention and self-care skills as well as early learning. We work on any gaps before school begins.
Learn more →DIR/Floortime Therapy
A relationship-based approach that follows your child's lead in play. Our founder, Alev Akıncı Yıldız, is a DIR Floortime therapist, and Floortime sessions are available in English.
Floortime Therapy
With the relationship-based DIR/Floortime approach, we join your child's own play to build connection. We see the emotional bond as the base of all development.
Learn more →What Is DIR/Floortime?
We explain the developmental stages behind the method and its focus on individual differences. When families understand the process, therapy works better.
Learn more →The Floortime Process
We walk you through the process step by step, from evaluation to session plan. Goals are reviewed at regular intervals.
Learn more →Floortime for Autism
For children on the autism spectrum, we aim to grow back-and-forth interaction. Your child's interests are the starting point of therapy.
Learn more →Floortime at Home: A Parent Guide
Practical Floortime ideas that families can use in daily routines. Bath time, cooking and play all become chances to connect.
Learn more →Special Support Programmes
Programmes for autism, ADHD and learning difficulties, plus guidance and home programmes for parents. Parent guidance and progress updates are in English.
Special Support Programmes
Programmes shaped around each child's needs, in areas such as autism, ADHD and learning difficulties. When needed, several specialists work together.
Learn more →Autism Therapy
We support communication, social interaction and daily living skills in children on the autism spectrum. The programme is built around your child's developmental profile.
Learn more →ADHD Support
For attention and hyperactivity concerns, we combine sensory and cognitive approaches. We take care to tell sensory seeking apart from ADHD.
Learn more →Learning Difficulties
A support programme for children who struggle with reading, writing or maths. We build on your child's strengths.
Learn more →Parent Guidance
Structured training so parents can take an active part in therapy. A consistent approach at home helps progress last.
Learn more →Home Programme Consultancy
We prepare a home programme for your family to make good use of the time between sessions. It is updated at regular intervals.
