Speech, OT and Floortime at One Address for Çatalca Families

Çatalca lies north-west of our centre. Families take the TEM motorway south to Beykent, Büyükçekmece (Istanbul), where every session happens in person. Therapy is available in English, and bilingual Turkish-English sessions suit children growing up with both languages.

Live in Çatalca and looking for speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or DIR/Floortime in English for your child? Families from Çatalca can use our centre in Beykent, Büyükçekmece. We do not have a branch in Çatalca. We have one centre, and this page explains honestly how working with us from Çatalca looks.

Çatalca is one of Büyükçekmece's neighbouring districts. From some parts of it, the journey takes a little longer than from other districts nearby, so planning appointments ahead pays off.

Some families look for one centre that brings speech therapy, occupational therapy and Floortime together, rather than several addresses. That is how we work. And if you found us by searching for therapy in Çatalca, we want you to know exactly where we are before you decide.

Three Therapies, One Address, One Plan

Families from Çatalca can use all of our services. Speech and language therapy covers late talking, unclear speech, stuttering, voice problems and language disorders. Occupational therapy covers sensory integration, fine and gross motor skills, self-care and handwriting. DIR/Floortime supports children who find relating and communicating hard, including autistic children.

These specialists work side by side. When a child needs more than one kind of support, there is one shared plan rather than several separate ones.

Therapy in English and Bilingual Sessions

All therapies are available in English, and so are family meetings and progress updates. For children growing up with Turkish and English, we plan bilingual Turkish-English sessions around your child's language profile. Our bilingual children page explains how this works.

Support for School-Age Children

For children at school, the concerns we meet most often are attention and concentration, handwriting difficulties, delayed fine motor skills and fluency problems such as stuttering.

With handwriting difficulties, we look at pencil grip, pencil pressure and hand muscle endurance together. The cause is not always muscle strength alone.

In attention work, the goal is not simply to make a child sit for longer. It is to build the skill of turning to a task and coming back to it after a distraction.

Support Between Visits: Parent Guidance and Home Programme

When the journey is long, what happens between visits matters. Two of our services are built for exactly that, and both are available in English.

Parent guidance helps you understand your child's goals and use the same strategies in everyday moments at home.

Home programme consultancy turns therapy goals into short activities that fit your family's routine.

After each session, take a few minutes with your therapist. That week's home programme and any suggestions for school are agreed in this short chat.

Fitting Therapy Around School and the Journey

Çatalca is inland, and public transport is more limited than in the city centre. Most families come by car, and we plan the programme with that in mind.

For children at school, we plan session times around the school timetable. For most families, appointments close to the end of the school day work best.

With your permission, your therapist can contact your child's school and share suggestions for the classroom. That way, progress carries on at school too.

Teacher observations are valuable for the evaluation. If you have notes from school, please bring them to your appointment.

A fixed session slot during term protects your child's routine and cuts down on missed sessions. In exam weeks or busy project periods, sessions can be spaced out for a while. The aim is to keep continuity without tiring your child.

Tracking Progress and Reports

A common worry in therapy is not knowing whether progress is really happening. That is why we follow it closely.

The first evaluation is the starting point. We note what your child can do through observation, play and your account of daily life. At regular intervals, we look at the same goals again and compare the two pictures.

Progress does not always show week by week. Skills often build up quietly for a while, then appear together. So comparing over very short intervals can mislead.

The progress report shows how far your child has come on each goal and what the next period will focus on. Like all our progress updates, it is shared with you in English.

For children at school, teacher observations complete the report. Behaviour in class carries information we cannot see at the centre.

If needed, the report can be shared with your child's doctor or the school's guidance service. This only ever happens with your permission.

Getting Here from Çatalca

Our centre is in Beykent, Büyükçekmece. Çatalca lies to the north-west, inland.

Getting to Çocukla Akademi from Çatalca

Families from the town centre and Muratbey usually join the TEM motorway and head south to Beykent. Families from villages such as Ovayenice use the same link.

Distances differ a lot between the central neighbourhoods and the villages. Tell us where you live when you book, so we can suggest a time slot that suits you.

A fixed appointment day makes a long journey predictable and avoids clashes with school.

Midday appointments usually suit both the roads and your child's energy. If you come straight from school, your child may be tired, so bring a small snack and some water.

After a long drive, arrive a few minutes early and allow a short movement break. It helps your child settle into the session.

In winter, the weather inland can affect the drive. On those days, set off early and send us a WhatsApp message if you are running late.
