We Agree the Programme and the Fee Together After the Assessment
Every child needs something different, so we do not publish a single price list. Instead, we first get to know your child, then plan the number of sessions and the length of the programme with you.
Our speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and DIR/Floortime sessions last 40 minutes and are one-to-one. They take place in person at our centre in Beykent, Büyükçekmece (Istanbul), in English or in Turkish, and bilingual Turkish-English sessions are available too. The fee depends on the therapy area, the number of sessions per week and the length of the programme, so we confirm it after the first assessment.

How Long Is a Session?
Speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and DIR/Floortime sessions all last 40 minutes. The length does not change with the type of therapy.
For most of the session, the therapist works one-to-one with your child. In the last few minutes, we also show you that week's home practice. This way your child repeats at home the skill they worked on in the session.
In other words, the therapist spends those 40 minutes with your child alone. When your child is ready, we can also continue some goals in our playgroup, and we decide this with you when we plan the programme.
How Many Sessions a Week?
For most children we plan one or two sessions a week. For example, speech delay and speech sound difficulties usually need one or two sessions a week.
However, we set the exact number after the first assessment. It depends on your child's age, the type of difficulty, the number of goals and your family's schedule.
The number is not fixed either. We review the plan with you at regular intervals and increase or reduce the sessions as your child progresses.
What Happens at the First Visit?
You do not need a doctor's referral or a report for the first visit. You can book directly.
We start by listening to you. Then we watch your child at play and look at their communication, language and speech, play and movement. It helps a lot if you bring notes or examples of what you have noticed at home or at nursery.
At the end of the visit, we share which area to work on and how often. If we suspect a hearing difficulty, we refer you for a hearing assessment first. You can read more about how we assess in our guides to speech and language assessment and occupational therapy assessment.
What Determines the Fee?
Three factors set the fee. As a result, two children at the same centre can have quite different monthly totals.
| Factor | Why it matters | When it becomes clear |
|---|---|---|
| Therapy area | Speech and language therapy, occupational therapy or Floortime; some children work in two areas at once | After the first assessment |
| Sessions per week | One or two sessions a week directly changes the monthly total | When we plan the programme |
| Length of the programme | Some goals take a few months, others take longer | When we review the plan together |
That is why we do not list a fixed price on our website. After the assessment we discuss the programme and the fee openly and answer your payment questions at that stage.
If you would like information before booking, you can call us on +90 537 373 44 19 or message us on WhatsApp.
Payment and Insurance
Çocukla Akademi is a private speech, language and occupational therapy centre. Sessions are paid for privately and are not covered by state support.
If you have private health insurance, please check your policy or ask your insurer whether it covers therapy sessions. We are also happy to talk through payment questions by phone once the programme is clear.
When Will We See Progress?
Families often ask how long therapy will last at the same time as asking about fees. However, there is no single answer. Progress depends on the cause of the difficulty, the age at which therapy starts and how regularly practice happens at home.
Gains also rarely follow a straight line. They usually build up for a while and then appear together. So seeing little change in the first weeks does not mean that therapy is not working.
We review the plan with you at regular intervals. In that review we look at which goals have been reached, which are still in progress and whether the number of sessions should change. Our founder, Specialist Audiologist and DIR Floortime therapist Alev Akıncı Yıldız, oversees every child's plan.
Which Therapy Fits Which Child?
If you are not sure where to start, the table below can guide you. However, we make the final decision together after the first visit.
| What you notice | Where we usually start | More information |
|---|---|---|
| Talks little, words are late, or mixes up sounds | Speech and language therapy | Speech and language therapy |
| Struggles with holding a pencil, dressing, balance or sensory sensitivities | Occupational therapy | Occupational therapy |
| Finds it hard to connect, play and regulate emotions | DIR/Floortime | Floortime therapy |
| Has, or may have, autism, ADHD or a learning difficulty | Special support programmes | Special support programmes |
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a speech therapy session cost?
The fee depends on the therapy area, the number of sessions per week and the length of the programme. So we confirm it after the first assessment, once the programme is clear. For current information, call +90 537 373 44 19.
What determines the fee for occupational therapy?
In occupational therapy, the fee also depends on the number of sessions per week and the length of the programme. The number of goals, such as sensory integration, fine motor skills or self-care, also affects the length.
How long is a therapy session?
All our speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and DIR/Floortime sessions last 40 minutes and are one-to-one.
How many sessions a week does my child need?
For most children we plan one or two sessions a week. We set the exact number after the first assessment and update it together as your child progresses.
Are sessions available in English?
Yes. All our therapies are available in English, and family meetings and progress updates are in English too. We also offer bilingual Turkish-English sessions for children growing up with both languages.
Do I need a referral or report for the first visit?
No. You can book the first visit directly. If we suspect a hearing difficulty, we refer you for a hearing assessment first.
Are sessions held in person?
Yes. All our sessions take place in person at our centre in Beykent, because play-based and movement-based work needs us to be with the child.
Can my child have speech therapy and occupational therapy at the same time?
Yes. Our team works at the same centre and runs both therapies under one plan. This way the goals support each other and your family deals with one team.
